Do you run baking courses near me or bread making classes near me?

We are lucky where we are in Somerset as despite everyone thinking it’s in the Deepest Darkest West Country it’s actually quite central, being a couple of hours from London on the train or from the midlands by car. The delicatessen where we host our courses is just ten minutes from the M5 and fifteen minutes outside of Taunton in the rural idyll of the Willows and Wetlands centre where there’s free parking, plenty of facilities, a cafe, museum and lots of other shops to visit.

We’re only twenty minutes from the Dorset border and have regular customers who bypass the big farmshops to visit us for our dedication to high levels of personal service and great local products. We run our courses upstairs in a purpose built kitchen at the WIllows and Wetlands centre, just ten minutes from the motorway and not far from the A37.

We can tailor each course according to the group, whether you’re after a beginners bread course or an advanced artisan sourdough course. We also run baking classes for kids and are happy to set up 1:1 classes if necessary, just ask!

Is your sourdough bread yeast free?

Proper sourdough bread is free from commercial yeast. Commercial yeast is typically one strain of yeast that is very good at producing carbon dioxide, which gets you great rise but leaves most of the ‘work’ to your gut bacteria, which is why many people feel bloated after eating commercial bread.

Can anyone do a sourdough bread class?

We tailor our bread courses to each group however there is a lot of information to take in on the sourdough class so we do recommend that people start with the stress-free bread course in order to get the baking basics under their belt.

Do you run online baking courses?

At the moment we don’t have any online courses however this is something that I plan to build over the winter, starting with a two-minute technique series but developing into a fully fledged online baking course with a certificate at the end

Do you do baking classes for kids?
